2021 Easter and Fiesta?
We are all still trying to come to terms with what occurred in 2020 and still continues in 2021. This pandemic has been very tragic to all of us for the human loss that we have endured. It is difficult to say goodbye to all our neighbors, friends, co-workers, and family members. We want to extend our condolence to each one that has lost a loved one.
We trade internationally, so we have the responsibility in both sides of the border to take precautions and do our best to take care of our working family. We have lost many artisans during this pandemic and we have committed to their families to continue to provide work for them by purchasing their art and goods even though we risk the chance of not selling the merchandise in such a crisis. However, we are reaching a critical point where we cannot continue to take in more of their art because we are running of of room in our warehouses. We want to thank all of our loyal customers that have continued to patronize us during these uncertain times so we can make more room. The artisans in Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Peru, and Ecuador thank you as well. However, we need more merchandise to find a permanent home so we can continue to support our artisans.
While large gatherings might not happen for the better part of this year or will be diminished, we cannot stop from getting that joy in our homes or in safe spaces. Let us help you bring some of this joy out!
Almost every small business is suffering economically, and we are not the exception in such unprecedented times. The cancellation of major events such as Fiesta in San Antonio and the reduction of celebrations around town in 2020 has exacerbated the economic slowdown in our community. Cancellations or lessening of events 2021 is bringing a less than desirable outlook. Store foot traffic is down in our store, but we are keeping our hope and faith that our San Antonio community will rise and keep strong.
We hope to continue to serve you, as we have for the past 26 years, but we can only do so if you consider us for your next party, event, decoration, cultural, home decor and clothing needs. Our future but most importantly the future of many artisans, that need the work, are in your hands. We make the commitment to always celebrate all seasons but most especially Fiesta throughout the whole year as safely as possible, but we ask the community to help us ride out these difficult times by visiting us or patronizing us online.
The Future Fiesta On Main
You may be aware that have temporary shut down our Fiesta On Main Location since the first mandatory shutdown in March of 2020, and we have made the tough decision to keep it temporarily closed. It is something that we do not wish to do as we have been in the location for more than 25 years. However, there have been many factors working against us from re-opening, but the most important one is to keeping our staff and customers safe. As you well know, there is extremely limited space inside the building so social distancing is difficult to maintain. The future of our beloved store still depends on the ever-changing pandemic and economic circumstances.
However, a lot of the art from Fiesta On Main is being moved to our second floor (west wing) of our Fiesta At North Star location (Opening Soon). You can safely shop and social distance in the 40,000 square foot store. We have also discreetly introduced a new museum experience on our second floor (east wing) called Dia de Muertos Museum. The entrance fees to the museum is only $5 / person. For more information click here: diademuertosmuseum.com
As mentioned above we are also in the works of opening our second floor west wing area with another cultural and gastronomic surprise. But more on this later!
Again, we ask that you visit our location so we can continue to provide the best hand made art from some of the most gifted artisans in Latin America. Their livelihood and future depends on you.
Thank you again for your loyalty and keep safe! We hope to see you soon
